Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015, s.54Effective: August 2026Review: Annually

Sigma Garden (“the Company”), a subsidiary of Sigma Wellness Ltd (registered office: 108–112 Main Road, Sundridge, Sevenoaks, England, TN14 6ES), provides elite garden design, maintenance and groundskeeping services across the county and surrounding areas, operating a four-tier service model, a franchised professional business network, a curated garden goods shop, and a groundworks contractor register. We take our responsibilities under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 seriously and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

Our commitment

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to ensuring that our own operations, and those of our partners and suppliers, are free from slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.

Our people

Every member of our garden crew and office staff is employed under a written contract, paid at or above the relevant statutory rate, and free to leave employment on reasonable notice. We verify right-to-work documentation before engagement and confirm that no recruitment fees are charged to workers.

Our supply chains

Our supply chains fall into three broad categories: curated goods for our shop, franchised professional businesses, and our groundworks contractor register. Each is subject to the due diligence set out below.

Due diligence processes

We apply proportionate, risk-based checks to each category of supply chain before and during engagement.

Curated garden goods (dropship shop)

We source only from established suppliers of high-quality garden goods. Before listing a supplier we confirm their company registration, request a copy of their own modern slavery statement where they are in scope of the Act, and require written confirmation that goods are produced without forced or child labour. Suppliers are reviewed annually.

Franchised professional businesses

Prospective franchisees complete an enquiry and funding-readiness process. On approval, franchisees agree to our code of conduct, which requires them to employ crew lawfully, verify right-to-work, and pay statutory minimums or above. We reserve the right to audit franchisee employment records and to terminate agreements where breaches are found.

Groundworks contractors

Contractors on our register provide company registration, public liability confirmation, and details of their workforce. We require confirmation that labour is engaged lawfully and that no fees are charged to workers for work. Contractors are re-attested on renewal of their listing.

Direct employment

Our own crew and office staff are recruited through documented processes with right-to-work verification, written contracts, and payslips. We do not use labour brokers or gangmasters for our own workforce.

Risk assessment & management

We consider the principal modern slavery risks to lie in the goods supply chain and in the engagement of sub-contracted labour by partners. We manage these risks through supplier and contractor onboarding checks, contractual clauses, periodic re-attestation, and the audit rights described above. Where a risk cannot be mitigated to our satisfaction, we will not proceed with, or will terminate, the relationship.

  • · Written confirmation of compliance at onboarding
  • · Annual re-attestation of suppliers and contractors
  • · Contractual right to audit and terminate on breach

Training & awareness

We provide our management and crew leads with guidance on the signs of modern slavery and the channels for raising concerns. Franchisees and approved contractors are made aware of this statement and our expectation that they uphold equivalent standards within their own businesses.

  • · Awareness briefing for staff and crew leads
  • · Policy circulated to franchisees and contractors
  • · Clear, confidential route to report concerns

Raising a concern

Reporting modern slavery
